The Hashtek Bag Shaker automates the last labour-intensive part of ice water extraction: dewatering and clearing your wash bags. By gently oscillating the bags up and down, it replicates the hand “shimmy” hashmakers use when pulling bags, helping water pass through while keeping the process visible, controlled, and efficient.

The Hashtek Bag Shaker is a highly innovative system designed to automate the dewatering process in ice water extraction.

Instead of relying on flat vibrating screens, the Bag Shaker uses a vertical oscillating motion that simulates the gentle shimmying technique experienced hashmakers use when pulling wash bags by hand. This motion helps keep material moving, improves water flow, and reduces the physical effort required during post-wash collection.

A major advantage of the Bag Shaker is filtration area. Compared to a standard 20″ diameter flat metal screen, the stacked bag design provides roughly 6x the filtration area, allowing water to escape more efficiently through the full surface of each wash bag.

Unlike flat vibrating screens, which can vibrate hash into a compacted sediment layer that blocks water flow, the Hashtek Bag Shaker continually rolls and moves the hash inside the bag. This helps resolve clogs as they form, keeping water moving and reducing bottlenecks during collection.

The open design also gives the operator full visibility into each bag throughout the process. You can monitor how each micron size is draining, pull one bag at a time if desired, and leave the remaining bags in place while they continue to dewater.
